Included in Thomas Watsons auction of antiques and collectables earlier today was this beautiful cello, with it's case and bow.
The piece attracted great interest before the auction and provided great drama as five telephone bidders, including specialist dealers from the Continent, fought it out. The telephone bidders were to be unsuccessful as the cello was eventually knocked down to a determined internet bidder at £5,000.
Another notable lot was a diamond ring which sold to a lady in the room for £1,600.
